Wow! Today a Stradivari violin made in 1721 (“The Lady Blunt,” named for Lady Ann Blunt who once owned it. She was the granddaughter of Lord Byron) was sold for $15,894,00 by the Nippon Music Foundation. This is an all time record price for a violin. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the recovery efforts in Japan. It is one of 12 historic instruments owned by the Foundation. What generosity. The buyer was anonymous.
